About the Carbon Farming Group

Carbon Farming Group (CFG) is a charitable trust working directly with and transferring information to land based sectors of New Zealand.

The CFG is funded by a donation from The Tindall Foundation. The basis of the donation is for educational interests of all New Zealanders in the rural sector around carbon farming.

A large body of information has been released by Government supporting the ETS and outlining policy details, and this will increase as functional ETS structures are implemented, while other stakeholders have also released information and comments on policy and practices. Ongoing international discussions may also result in data, case studies and policies that impact New Zealand's situation.

The CFG will examine the impacts of ETS on land based sectors and work with partners to provide robust, neutral and appropriate information, and develop case studies of real-world implementation and possible solutions that will assist land based sectors in;

understanding, adapting and adopting measures to mitigate and lower emissions
realising opportunities around 'Carbon farming'
